Water Conservation Advisory
Mt. Creek Community
Customers in the Mt. Creek Community should limit their water usage to as minimal as possible. As such, exterior watering, washing, swimming pools, and water slides are strongly advised against. During this time, the ability to keep up with demand will be difficult and will place stress on the backup systems. Pressures lower than normal will be noticeable in certain areas.
Reason:
The Association is having maintenance performed on the aerator and elevated storage tanks. This equipment normally provides water to the affected areas. While this equipment is out of service, backup pressure pumps and adjacent distribution systems will be providing water to customers.
Duration:
3 - 4 days
When normal systems are back in service, an update will be made.
Affected areas:

Henry Byrd Rd
South Enoch Grove Rd
North Enoch Grove Rd

Southwest Rankin Water Association, Inc. (SWRWA) has received a Rural Water Association Infrastructure Grant (RWAIG), administered by the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH), to replace the existing older, smaller-diameter, deficient PVC waterlines in Simpson County with new and larger-diameter PVC waterlines. This will provide customers with increased pressure, water supply, reliability, and overall water service. Waterlines on the following roads will be replaced and/or upgraded.
- Old Pearl: From Gatesville to Hopewell.
- Hopewell: From Old Pearl West to End of Water System.
- Gatesville: From Old Pearl West to End of Water System.
- Joe Dear: From Old Pearl East to H Dear.
- H Dear: From Joe Dear South to Old Pearl.
The RWAIG 2021 Water System Improvements Project was competitively bid on November 1, 2024, and a contract was awarded to Edge Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $1,215,401.25. Construction is expected to begin in Summer 2025 and is anticipated to be completed in late Fall 2025. During construction, customers will encounter heavy equipment and personnel working on county roads, county rights-of-way, private easements; excavations (including excavations in customers’ yards that fall within county ROW or private easements); some traffic delays; and many could experience temporary water outages. The Association asks for your patience and understanding. SWRWA’s customers can look forward to increased water flow and pressure, less frequent water outages, and increased water quality upon completion of the project.
